BMR - What is at stake ?

BMR compliance is required when contributing/calculating/administering to an index for the determination of the value of a financial product.
 
Benchmark indexes, what are we talking about?
 
A Benchmark index is subject to BMR if it used to:
▪ determine the value of a fund;
▪ build a portfolio allocation;
▪ calculate a fund’s (out)performance fees;
▪ determine the proceeds from a financial product or a financial contract;
▪ determine the value of a financial product.
